Panasonic DMC-T Underwater camera August 25, 2010 Dan The few photos I took were OK but lacked sharpness. My old Canon A710IS with Canon housing produced much sharper photos. The Panasonic camera died within a couple of minutes of using it in water. There was no evidence of leakage in the battery or connector compartments. If water was the culprit it must have entered somewhere other than the user accessible compartments. IMHO the unit is not ready for prime time. Amazon service was excellent and they accepted a return without problem.
very bad camera August 24, 2010 Stefano Desideri (Bielsko Biala, Poland) I was waiting long time for this camera, on the paper i t was very good, but they have a lot of defect in conception.
The quality of the picture is quite good in daylight but in the night the overall quality of the picture is very bad: you will just have a lot of noise. It is no protection on the lens: it very easy to put the fingers on it, then the quality of the picture will even worst.
The next point is the zoom command: practically impossible to use!! The shoothing commad also is not well designed because is not where you are expecting.
I take in the hand the "Olympus miu" and it seams much better from the design point of view: there is protection for the lens, zoom is ergonomically well made. If you really need underwater camera please buy Canon or Olympus.
perfect August 23, 2010 julienyc I bought this camera for my photographer boyfriend. He usually handles expensive cameras, film and digital, but I wanted him to have a point and shoot he could take with him anywhere - especially underwater during his shoots and on our vacations. We absolutely love this camera. It's fast to take pictures, easy to switch from camera to movie, easy to turn off the flash when you don't want it > although it's really not a bad flash. In the 2 months we've had it we've been amazed with the quality of the photos, and films. Seems just as good as some of the best point and shoot cameras out there, with the huge advantage of going underwater!! We're loving it.
Great until August 22, 2010 T. Cook (At my house) I bought this camera while deployed to Africa for its so called ruggedness and reviews. I had it for a bout 2 weeks and went to lake Ghoubet for a little snorkeling. I checked the camera seals were clean, locked the doors on the camera was in the water for about two trips of 15 min at a depth of less then 3 feet. By the time I got back from the trip (about a 2 hour drive). The camera quit letting me take pictures, and now says "turn off and turn on the camera" after being on for a few min. I did take a lot of good pictures, prior to the issue, but you can get a lot of good pictures from a normal camera that isn't so called "waterproof" for half the price.
Finally! August 21, 2010 trucky105 We finally found a camera that keeps up with us! From the beaches to the ski slopes this camera totally rocks! Keep it clean and charged and it keeps up with you and takes awesome pictures!
